In the beginning this 2.8-acre site had the appearance of a bland, unfinished canvas. After the design was completed and approved, we moved forward with the selection of many qualified contractors; surveyor, excavator, mason, landscaper, asphalt company, custom welder, play structure architect.
The construction process began with removing existing patios and walkways, and re-grading for a new asphalt drive. Large river boulders were installed throughout the property and the grade was re-contoured to include a functional and artistic dry creek bed provided a drama to the landscape.
Propane tanks were moved out of site, new asphalt was laid to give more definition to the drive and parking areas.
Flagstone patios and walkways were installed in the front and back of the residence, to create new outdoor living spaces and improve circulation throughout the property.
Large evergreens along with aspen and chokecherry trees, and many shrubs, were installed creating a forest that connected the house to the landscape. This also created more privacy and enhanced distant views. Finally, a custom play structure was installed in the woods for the grand children.
The project started in March and ended in October. The end result was a spectacular landscape renovation that the owners will enjoy for years to come.
