This project in Cherry Hills presented a huge challenge, how to build a lap pool in a narrow back yard with a 5’ drop off in 15′ to the property line.

The design incorporated large granite boulder retaining walls that would also serve as areas for  perennial gardens and a colorful backdrop to the pool. The pool design also included a 2’ concrete coping and a 4’ perimeter of sod for the owner’s dog to run around while they we swimming!

The excavator had a very tight area to work in. He basically had to back his way out from the south property line to the north. To complicate matters, while excavating they discovered previous pool that had been filled in.

Through all these obstacles the end result was successful, creating a beautiful yet functional backyard with a pool and colorful plantings.
